Split PDF: export pages for free without uploading
Do you have one large PDF but only need a few pages? Export them for free in your browser, without uploading anything.
When do you need a PDF splitter?
You receive a twenty-page PDF, but your colleague only needs pages 3 to 7. Or you have a scanned book as a single file, but want to keep each chapter separately. Or you want to take one page out of a contract without sending the whole document.
These are situations where a PDF splitter is essential. Yet many people reach for expensive software or dubious online services that process your files on their servers. There is no need for that.
The problem with online PDF splitters
Uploading to someone else's server
Most free online tools upload your PDF to their servers. For confidential documents such as contracts, payslips or medical reports, that is a major privacy risk.
A limit of 2 splits per day
Popular services such as Smallpdf or iLovePDF limit free users to a handful of tasks per day. After that you have to pay or wait until the next day.
Slow processing
Uploading your file, waiting for the server to finish, then downloading. For a simple page extraction that is far too cumbersome.
Our approach: right in your browser
Our PDF splitter works entirely locally in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your computer. Nothing is uploaded.
Export all pages
Every page becomes a separate PDF, bundled in a ZIP file you download with one click.
Enter a page range
Specify which pages you want: "1-3, 5, 7-9" creates three separate PDFs from that selection.
No loss of quality
Pages are copied exactly. Layout, images, links and forms stay intact.
Free without limits
No daily limit, no account, no payment. Use it as often as you like.
How it works
Splitting a PDF takes three steps:
- 1 Go to Split PDF and drag your PDF into the upload box
- 2 Choose "All pages" or enter a page range, such as 2-5 or 1, 3, 7-10
- 3 Click "Split PDF" and download the split pages as a ZIP
Practical examples
Taking one page out of a contract
You have signed a fifteen-page contract, but only want to forward the signed page. With the page range "15" you get exactly that one page as a separate PDF.
Splitting a report by chapter
You have a sixty-page annual report and want to send each chapter as a separate PDF to the relevant department. With one range per chapter you do it all in one go.
Archiving scanned documents
You put several documents into one scan and want to separate them afterwards. Split the PDF into separate pages and save them as individual files.
The technology behind it
The tool uses pdf-lib, an open-source JavaScript library, and JSZip to create the ZIP file. Both libraries run entirely in your browser. No server connection is needed for the processing.
Every selected page is copied exactly into a new PDF document. There is no recompression or conversion, so the original quality is fully preserved.
Tip: merge PDFs too?
The opposite of splitting is merging. Do you have separate PDF pages or documents you want to combine into one file? Our merge PDF tool works the same way: entirely in your browser, no upload needed, original quality preserved.
